From the New World

I'll keep this one actually short.
I believe you should go ahead and watch this show if you are curious about it in any capacity because it's really good, a bit of a slow burn though.
Seeing the characters age and discover how twisted their world is was a good way to form the narrative as it feels like you are with main cast for the ride, seeing things from their initially ignorant perspective before you start to question and discover certain aspects of their society and why it is the way it is.
This ties into the world building too. Everything about this show is so well explained to the point where you can understand why humanity got to this point they that they consider good enough to be complacent with despite how messed up and cruel it is.
By the end, with the information that is revealed, it kinda flips the entire story on it's head and recontextualizes a lot of things that happened. Most impressively, it makes the actions of the character and faction, who were full blown antagonists in the last arc of the story, completely justifiable.
All in all I guess it's a story about the nature of humanity and the lengths we may go for the sake of our survival. It's quite bleak and depressing in that regard, even the ending is rather unceremonious and just left me thinking about the show as a whole.
Besides all that though, I think, visually, this show looks relly good. I particularly like how flat the shading looks. Music is also great and fits the mood. Ending songs are really good, personally prfer the first one though. Anyway, yeah pretty good anime, serves well as food for thought.
